Year of the New Testament

Posted Tuesday 2nd January 2018

We have declared 2018, 'Year of the New Testament' here at theBarn. What better investment could we make as a church, than to devote our time and energy to studying the Word of God, fixing our eyes on Jesus, feeding that relationship, sharpening our sword, etc.

To that end, we are proposing two things. First, we are encouraging everyone to read through the New Testament this year. If you read one chapter a day, five days a week, you finish on December 30th! Here is the link to the reading plan.

To make that experience richer, why not consider highlighting your Bible? You might even want to buy a new one for that express purpose. We recommend the New Living Translation, though there are several other good ones. You might want to try reading a different version for freshness.

Here are our recommended highlighting options ... Hope they're helpful:

* Orange = General

* Yellow = Command

* Green = Prayer

* Brown = Faith

* Pink = Prophecy

* Red = Healing / Miracle / Power of God

* Blue = Holy Spirit

Secondly, we are planning to preach our way through selected New Testament books. We're starting with the Gospel of Mark on the first Sunday of the year. We hope you'll join us and that you'll find our 2018 focus enriching, encouraging and strengthening.

Happy New Year!
