Over the course of this week, we are preview the five workshops being offered as part of Equip. The third of these is Listen, Learn, Love with Cliff Hayward & Barrie Thompson.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
Come and learn skills that will help you to love your neighbour. These skills will, with the Holy Spirit's help, change your life and the loves of others.
It will be helpful to commit to the whole course and you will be encouraged to prayerfully practice what you have learnt between sessions.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
This is a basic course is for those who want to get alongside others, being present for them, developing understanding and hoping that by doing so theirs and our hearts will open more to the love of Christ. It will be useful to you if you are in any serving role in the church/family/work/friends or with strangers.
This is NOT a course for you to receive pastoral care. It is an opportunity to learn together and will be participatory, experiential and reflect on His story and ours, trying to help others to marry together more of the head, heart and Spirit.
It is led by those who have failed but know something of the journey and together have some understanding of the knowledge, skills and attitude that can help others.
WHAT ARE WE GOING TO LEARN?
Session 1: Safe place, valuing, accepting and attending
Session 2: Following, and encouraging sharing
Session 3: Empathy and reflecting feelings
Session 4: Understanding what is being shared
Session 5: Making progress with the difficult things
Session 6: Moving forward in the love of Christ
COURSE LEADER: Cliff Hayward
